Old dog.....new tricks! Some folks say that accurizing a factory Remington action is "putting lipstick on a pig" but we gotta say that pig looks pretty hot!
We did a full accurizing process on this factory Remington 700 and installed a premium Krieger M24/M40 (what else?!?) barrel, TriggerTech Special trigger, and a Leupold Mk4 optic in an Area 419 tactical mount. The results (shot with factory Federal 140gr GMM SMK) speaks for itself!
Fun story: During range testing, someone asked, "Who did the Cerakote on that?"
Me: "Krylon"
Person: "Cool. Never heard of them. Where are they located?"
Me: "In a spray can." 😂👍

We all had a good time yesterday………Goose is our Boxer/Pit mix and Monster is……well……Monster. We had him DNA tested and they detected 22 different breeds! The highest concentration is Lab, but only 26%. Whatever he is, he loves the snow………must be the St. Bernard in him!

Blurring the line between competition and hunting is our "hybrid" rifle. This rifle can be configured to make weight for NRL Hunter Heavy class or up to 2.5 lbs of additional weight can be added through the adjustable @area419official weighted ARCA rail and our custom lightweight 3D printed plastic spacers and laser cut stainless steel spacers. Up to 2.5 lbs of additional weight can be added for PRS Open competition.
This build features many of the components that we use in our standard hunting builds. The @lone_peak_arms Razor action is lightweight without sacrificing accuracy and the @mannersstocks T4A-Team stock offers adjustability and a wide forend for stability.
@kahlesnorthamerica 525i optic is trusted and has the battle scars to prove it.
This rifle is available for range demo for customers who have never experienced the difference in performance that a true custom rifle delivers.

We call this one the "Pro Stock" build. Custom rifle performance at a price comparable to high-end factory rifles.
This magnum build has no problems getting hits at a mile with factory ammo.
We`ve had short action versions of this build finish almost in the top 20 at a regional PRS competition. The Pro Stock can be configured with a lighter barrel for the perfect precision hunter.

When we decided to do a refresh on our in-house PRS competition build, we turned to the best vendors in the industry and their competition specific offerings.
Our new build (AKA: White Monster......like the drink) is what we feel is the current state-of-the-art in the PRS space. The performance of these products combined into one system is truly next level. The targets were shot with factory Federal GMM 140 gr SMK`s and we`ve already had this to one comp this year.

This place will forever be special to me. The dream that would become Performance Weapon Systems was born in this place. I consider my friends there like extended family and I’m extremely honored to build tools that they use in the field to feed their families and help clients realize their dream hunts. It’s so cool to see them living a way of life that goes back generations, fine-tuned to the land, the seasons, and the animals.

Watching customers enjoy their rifles is THE most rewarding thing for a gunsmith. More than shooting small groups, more than any trophy or accolade, the smile on a customer’s face when the rifle does what it was built for is what keeps the fire lit.
I was fortunate to be able to visit the V7 Ranch again this year for antelope and watch my rifles at work.
They rode in trucks, got dirty, and put in work all the way out to 700 yards and harvested 4 nice NM antelope.
“Number 1”, the first rifle I built for a customer, is still going strong as a guide rifle and helping clients get their trophies and a trusted tool for her owner.

I had the privilege of hanging out with @galbreath_evin82 and the crew at @pilotmountainarmsofficial this weekend for some coyote hunting and a “wildlife survey”. Very exciting things coming for those guys and I’m so proud that they gave me a sneak peak.
